A little while ago I did a bit of a price comparison between the home brew suppliers I could find in new Zealand. Based on this I settled on Hauraki Homebrew as my supplier. This was based purely on price and range. I have popped in there in person a couple of times, but I haven't really tested out their knowledge and advice, so i can't comment on this aspect.
With the GST changes that we've just had, I thought it was worth doing another quick price comparison of the main online suppliers. I've taken a sample of the more common ingredients and compared the relative prices.
I've also compared their shipping policy which can end up influencing the decision.
These are the stores I've compared:
Hauraki Homebrew
Brewshop.co.nz
Liberty Brewing
Dunedin Malthouse
I've excluded non-online stores. I've also excluded online stores I couldn't find with Google :)
The ingredients I've compared are as follows:
Yeast:
SafBrew S-33
Safale S-04
Safale US-05
Saflager S-23

Local:
